A unique redevelopment property in an established  post WWII Kansas City suburb along with it contiguous evolving residential and commercial density call for a bold architectural statement.  Classic and enduring materials were incorporated with subtly edgy details that complement the converging neighborhoods.

Privateria Residence

Mission Hills, KS

The project involved a massive renovation to a home in excess of 5,000 sf converting the prairie style home to more traditional aesthetic.

Courthouse Square Apartments

Westfield, MA

Archetype was engaged by a private developer in 2010 for the adaptive reuse of a historic school building and subsequent conversion to a privately owned and operated apartment building for students at Westfield University.  Originally built in 1899 and later repurposed as the county courthouse, the project required solving a multitude of life safety concerns involved with changing the use of the building all while refurbishing the exterior windows and facade in accordance with historic preservation standards.  The building is now home to 85 students.

Johnson Residence

Mission Hills, KS

A complete renovation of the front façade was desired by the Johnsons.  A newly redesigned front gable and replacement of the outdated siding with limestone veneer gave this residence a new, yet traditional facelift.
